The Dole is owned by The Lakeside Legacy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that was founded and purchased the historic Mansion and grounds in 2002 to prevent the property from a planned development. We have flourished from the local community supporting and attending our events, the generosity of individuals, and the sponsorship of hundreds of businesses and organizations throughout McHenry County and the surrounding communities.  Without such generous support, all we do at The Dole would not be possible.

Your financial support of the Dole will help us to continue to…

• Preserve, protect and restore the historic Dole Mansion and historic buildings, plus maintain the beautiful 12 acres of green, creating a “go to” community destination.

• Deliver our cornerstone artistic and cultural events such as the annual 4th of July Lakeside Festival, Farmers Market+, Music Under the Trees, and Lou’s Lounge plus many other innovative arts events such as Nancy Merkling’s 4th Friday Art Event at The Dole, educational and continuing education programs, gallery exhibits, and live performances.

• Host family-friendly community events and support local non-profits, provide a necessary space for educators and entrepreneurs to inspire the next generation of creative minds and community leaders.

The Dole is not funded by the City of Crystal Lake or the State of Illinois. We rely solely on community support of our Cornerstone and private events, the many sponsorships from local businesses and individual donations from our local community and surrounding areas.
