LATE NIGHT at the Dole

with The Groove Hotel

Live Music + Dancing

The party continues after every single 4th Fridays Art Event for those who already say “Where can we go after the art event for another drink and some live music and dancing?” in our very own Listening Room.  Local and regional bands, dance floor and cash bar all in our swanky Listening Room here at The Dole.  Yep, we think of it all.

Since the band formed in 2015, the Groove Hotel has played for appreciative crowds at Anderson Gardens Concert series, Mendelssohn PAC, Phoenix Park Jazz Festival, Northwest Illinois Arts and Jazz Festival, Sinnissippi Band Shell, Rotary Gardens, and the Klehm Arboretum Woodsong concert series.

The band’s evolving repertoire emphasizes rhythmic variety, including Swing, Latin, R & B, and Funk styles of music. Compositions from the jazz canon by Miles Davis, Etta James, and Herbie Hancock share the spotlight with songs by Hugh Masekela, King Crimson, Chick Corea, and Steely Dan to name just a few. The group also performs many original compositions.

The Groove Hotel received the RAMI (Rockford Area Music Industry) Award for Best Jazz Band in 2017 and 2019.

LATE NIGHT at the Dole

with Bad Penny

Live Music + Dancing

The party continues after every single 4th Fridays Art Event for those who already say “Where can we go after the art event for another drink and some live music and dancing?” in our very own Listening Room.  Local and regional bands, dance floor and a cash bar all in our swanky Listening Room here at the Dole.  Yep, we think of it all.

Bad Penny is an acoustic trio based in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

While they still enjoy playing in full-blown rock bands, there is something special about playing a stripped-down arrangement of classic rock songs. Drawing from influences such as The Beatles, Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Eagles, vocal harmonies take center stage in their live shows.

  • Live Music + Dancing at The Dole
  • Concert Only: $10.00
  • Online ticket sales end at 12:00 pm (noon) on May 22nd.
